Protections CTs are designed to be used with protective and trip relays in order to open circuit breakers. These CTs can handle higher currents during fault conditions and this is determined by their class rating. The main types of protection CTs are; PVC tape wound, Class PS/X and resin cast.

This type of CT measures primary current from the feeder, and usually outputs a 5A or 1A reading into a power meter device for monitoring purposes. These CTs are available in a range of currents to meet your specific requirements. We can provide metering CTs in both split core and solid core forms.
